My husband persuaded me that we should play it. I'm not the most intense gamer; that means I like playing, but the violence is pretty much my least favorite part. I've been immersed in ESO for the past year, and since Bethesday made both games, I figured I couldn't go too wrong. So far it's been fun...still just getting started. He's at about level 8 and having a ball!

(10,345 posts)she spent 2 hours creating herself and me in the character creation screen just to watch my character be shot and killed within the first 30 minutes of the game lmao.
I however am awaiting Star Wars Battlefront tomorrow!!! ahhhhh!!!!

(2,427 posts)I hear it looks incredible but is quite shallow - I have no idea if this is reality or just fan boy noise.

(10,345 posts)I'll write one up just like I did for the stream controller.

It looks pretty good - are those X wings and shit being flown by other players or is that the computer?

(13,875 posts)Between not having much time to play and my propensity to search and scavenge everything, Dogmeat and I just made it to Concord. The combat mechanics and my poor timing are going to make survival a challenge but the game seems enjoyable right now.

(16,184 posts)and give some time for Bethesda to clean up what's bound to be a mountain of bugs. That's not to say they do sloppy work, but large, ambitious open world games are very hard to test for even most possible scenarios. I didn't even get into Skyrim until the 1.9 patch.
I'm also definitely glad to see Fallout on the Creation engine finally. I loved Fallout 3 and New Vegas to death, but Gamebryo was just not a good engine and caused a lot of performance issues.
That said, it looks interesting, and once I'm done playing Skyrim in about 20 years, I'll give it a go.

(2,311 posts)I really love it. I should say I play alone...but the quests are so varied and so much fun.

(994 posts)Probably won't go back to that quest until I'm much higher level. I did get Piper to be my g/f though! The Grape Mentats made me irresistible.
I think the violence is OK since pretty much everything that sees you tries to kill you first.

(1,245 posts)Yeah, I held off on that one cause I'd heard from an office-mate that it ramps up the difficulty rather suddenly. Leveled up with some of the Diamond City & Brotherhood of Steel fetch quests, building stuff at the settlements I liberated, and completing the 'Silver Shroud' (I believe it was called) questline ... which was definitely the best side quest so far in the game.
Went and tackled that mission around level 20 and it wasn't too bad, still a challenge but not insurmountable ... be careful you don't enable the 'Glowing' version while you're still fighting the 'Queen' one or you'll be in trouble though. The glowing one's release happens when you enter a certain room in the building and you DON'T want it after you while you're trying to take down the Queen.
Anyways, yeah ... awesome game, loads of fun, just like FO3 and FONV and Skyrim all were. I'm like 70 hours in and feel like I've barely started...and actually, that's true from what I understand. SOOOO much to do in this game it's almost ridiculous.

(994 posts)Not sure why I was running around outside at first but I finally wised up. I really wanted that castle.
I went south into a swamp after that mission and got OHKd by a Mirelurk King so it's back to the city for now. And I agree the Silver Shroud is the best quest line so far.
Just Cause 3 comes out Dec. 1st so I might just sidequest and then put this one on hold for a while. Did the same with Oblivion, F3 and Skyrim. Came back and finished them later.
Just Cause 2 was amazing, IMO, and I can't wait the play the new one. It's a bit like the latest Far Cry games but third person and much more crazy mayhem.

(188 posts)I am level 31 and I've barely progressed in the main storyline. Just too busy exploring the wasteland, killing legendary bad guys and collecting their weapons. Building up settlements has been a surprising time sink. Gahhhh Just talking about this makes me want to go back and play!

(2,311 posts)...and until I get a new one (about two weeks), I have to play on my husband's, when he's on break. That means staying up late or waiting for interesting sports on TV. Ah well, we are still loving this one!
