Seriously.
EDIT: I love swords and sorcery.

(12,041 posts)The series has gone downhill since they got rid of nearly all the fantasy and went completely futuristic. I miss the SNES era Final Fantasy, FFVI is my most beloved game of all time, it may have had some sci-fi mixed in but it never forgot the series' sword and sorcery roots.

(24,096 posts)I have tried a couple new FF trials here and there and they are just gawd awful compared to the rich good old days one.
FF6 is the one with Cyan and Celeste and that group? I lose track of some of the numbering, but if that is the one that is my favourite, I think. Altho 7 sucked up a lot of my time too - I really liked the materia system in 7.

(776 posts)I generally go for futuristic games or modern day ones, as long as they are *not* modern military shooters (or like Yahtzee from Zero Punctuation calls them: "Spunkgargleweewee" .
Fantasy never appealed to me.
Oh, and poll option nine. You can never go wrong with poll option nine.

(12,041 posts)I like fantasy for RPGs, modern for open world games and futuristic for Mass Effect. I grew up on fantasy however so if I had to pick one it would be that.
