(24,096 posts)I came across one just the other day: Odin's Quest. It's a browser game and graphically very beautiful. But it's one of those were everything seems to be automated, you don't have to do any searching or puzzle solving just run around and collect stuff.

(14,040 posts)If I just want to kill a bunch of things (as stress relief) with no skill required, I go easy. If I want a challenge, I go hard.

(4,138 posts)I'm playing Dark Souls now, and that game is insanely unforgiving and challenging. For the most part, it's fun, and the hard parts are satisfying to complete but it has its fair share of irritating issues. One example is an early boss, where until you learn how to react, you will lose the fight in seconds. Which would be alright if the nearest save point wasn't a boring 5 minute slog away, so instead of spending your time learning how to defeat the boss, you're spending the majority of your time traveling. A spawn point nearer to the boss wouldn't make it any easier, but would cut down on the traveling timesink.

(3,220 posts)There's nothing worse to me than a game that plays itself for you with nothing new to learn about it. I like starting off extremely weak and skill-less, and working myself up. If a game is too easy, and the threat of losing is gone when I just started, the game is boring.
As for extremely hard, it depends - how generous are the saves? Do you have to rewatch cut scenes (instant deal breaker)? Am I just doing something extremely repetitive / trial and error without any fun value at all?
