yes HUGE sparrows, whose nest has been occupied by geese, so ospreys been trying to manage. NOW, geese are out, but nest is a MESS, so hoping storms will clean the place out.

(19,312 posts)and they'll get everything to their liking. You can bet on that.
I can't believe the size of some of their nests. They've come back in a big way around here, and the telephone/electric companies took to building nice platforms for them so they wouldn't make the poles too top-heavy. They love them. Once again, the animals train the humans.

(135,794 posts)Here's today's pic of messy nest. They seem to have found this boathouse (adjacent to my house, on creek) YEARS ago, so it is truly huge.
It's raining now; wasn't earlier. Sun forecast for Tuesday.

(19,312 posts)along with a couple of day's work by the Osprey. The females are very meticulous about how the want their nests, and the male will move sticks a half dozen times if she's not happy with it.
They're fun to watch. Cars stop along the road here just watching the Osprey build/rebuild their nests. I imagine many people have never seen something like that before.
I'm a firm believer that if you study and understand animals, you'll understand people perfectly. There's a type of animal for every type of person, and they each have their own personality.
Good luck to your nesting pair. Share more pictures during the course of the summer, please?
