Dodge is bringing back the Dakota in 2026. A smaller truck, easier to get around, easier to park, easier to get in a garage. An old guys truck. Looking forward to it.

(40,886 posts)I like it more than I thought I would. Electronic gizmos out the wazoo. Safety devices which are greatly appreciated. East to park, drive and room left in the garage. And 310 horses. Im happy with it. Looking forward to the new Dakota hitting the road.

(32,655 posts)and such a nice change from all those HUGE trucks that try to park in a regular parking spot and hang over the line by about 3 feet. 🤬 🤬 🤬

(40,886 posts)Who is having a hard time driving and parking. I think the parking spots could be a tad wider. Vehicles have gotten bigger but parking space sizes remain the same. I know the consternation ensuing from losing parking spaces if they are widened. Its just a thought.

(5,176 posts)When you increase the space size, not just width but length and height, also you cut down on the number of spaces. Trying to do that in an existing parking garage is a problem when aisle width is set and structural supports are in place. Then building new garages means fewer spaces, taller floors and costs balloon.

Killing the Charger was a dumb move considering there aren't many 4dr sedans and the police bought lots of them

(2,422 posts)Its an overpriced downsized F150. My1997 Mazda B4000 a Ranger with a Mazda nameplate - runs circles around the new Ranger more power, more payload, easy to work on.
Lets hope Dodge really does revive the Dakota, not just slap the nameplate on a piece of overpriced commuter vehicle that is a truck in name only.

(40,886 posts)Somewhat confusing (for me) but sounds like Dodges new truck will be competing with the Ford Maverick.

(64,730 posts)Wouldn't mind them changing it to the Dakota as the above sounds, well, stupid. And they can't call it the Ram Page. Well, they could I guess.
Being Dodge, sooner or later it'll have a Hellcat version I'm sure. Which will be hilarious if they do.
