Electric car front ends.

I'm in Germany and have been seeing a growing number of EVs. Markers of all sorts including BMW and Audi.
The issue for me is the front end look. Most of them look very similar to the fronts from the gas version of the manufacturer. The grill that would cover the radiator is solid with decoration to make it look similar.

I find it disappointing that so little change has been made.

Seems like the designer group has 2 issues. First they haven't had time to redesign the front. Two they don't quite know what to do with the what would be a large blank space where all the special cooling venting is normally placed.
It seems to me that Tesla fronts are pretty plain. It may be that more aerodynamics could be employed since you don't need the same hood line with electric power trains or the several square feet of area for cooling.

They can do that because there is no engine or transmission in the front.

That imposes some constraints, but you are right, they dont need a grill.

They arent shy though. They will make bold changes if customers like them. But i suspect customers are resistant.....
