I always took pride in being able to do things like tire changes, I find that I have the knowledge but lack the strength. Modern cars are increasingly complex and batteries fail without warning.

I went to a site for reviews that required my phone and email info. I was immediately bombed by phone, texts and emails. That angers me no end.

I should've come here first.

Anyone have experiences good or bad.

Are you asking about experiences with road side assistance? My advice is AAA. I have had it for many years and have never had a problem with it. Always ready and pretty reasonable time frames.

5. Bad luck with AAA.

They shuffled me around from one state office to another, so I had to make umpty eleven phone calls and never got reimbursed. And I was paying almost 100 bucks a year for special, super, premium coverage. My insurance gives me better service at far less cost.

Sorry to hear that, I have been a member for 20+ years and have never had any problems at all with roadside service,change tire,locked out of car, and many tows over the years dead batteries etc,...Never been given any sort of run around.

8. Same here. Member for aong time.

Had good luck with lockouts, flat tires, etc. They only snubbed me when I hit a deer in Montana and they shuttled me back and forth between Montana and Washington because Washington is my home state. My insurance company jumped in and got it straight.

2. Extended warranties are scams. If you're looking to get a towing coverage, check out your car insurance

coverage. Mine charges about $8 per year for the towing.

As to getting spammed with email, read up on how to set up aliases for whatever email provider you use. This allows you to give the site an email address that will put it in your normal email but you can delete it at any time and it no longer exists.

As to phone texting and calling, yo can get an inexpensive home phone service or a number that forward things that you can use for filtering things.

Then, again, you can always stop using sites that require login to get reviews. There are plenty of places that don't require that. The types of sites you are using are making money off referrals and your personal info and their "ratings" I would not trust.

3. You got that right. Car dealers will bombard you with how good the car is, and when it is time to close the deal

they will bombard you with the absolute necessity for an extended warranty. I won't let them have it both ways.
Extended warranties on any product, in my opinion, is a complete waste of money; my patent answer is no, if they continue to hard-sell the product the answer is "hell no."

4. Excellent advice.

You might consider extending the original warranty on your car, but those warranties on your television, vacuum cleaner, etc. are not worth it. And the advice about roadside assistance is super excellent. You can get better coverage for less money than from AAA, plus your insurance company will actually help you, unlike AAA, who will usually blow you off.

7. AAA all the way

Been a member for 7 years now. I've locked my keys in my car. Dead battery in library parking lot. Car overheated during a late night trip and they came with a tow truck for me. Then drove me home.

You might have to wait a bit depending on how far you are from a service center or how busy they are. But they've always come through for me.
