My city offers free steering wheel locks for Hyundai and Kia owners

while supply lasts. I may take on them even though I don't think (rather hope) that my small Kia Soul is of little interest to the kids. Also it does use a regular key to start. No fancy software downloaded from TicTok..

The key-started cars were shipped to the US without the immobilizer chip that only lets the car start if the chip is there. You don’t have that. So the punks can just hot wire your car by following the video.

The ones with the push button start are ok since the key fob has the chip in it

body shop just to get an estimate. The rep said that they have cameras in the yard and the thieves just look at them and wave. They cannot really lock the yard, he said, in case of a fire that would require quick actions. I think.

And our state AG chooses to sue the car manufacturers instead of going after the thieves. But then, our newly elected county county attorney claims that kids' brains don't "mature" until they are 25 so she lets cold blooded murderers with a slap on the wrist.

Tik Tok is just showing them what to do. They are just using the usb to twist the ignition. And they are stealing any model this works on since they aren't trying to profit from them, they are just using them for joyrides then dumping or wrecking them.
