Major League Baseball released images of the uniforms players will wear in the 2023 All-Star Game that will played at T-Mobile Park.
Per the press release, the uniform celebrates Seattles unique position as a beacon of nature, groundbreaking technology and cultural progress to inspire the next generation of diamond athletes. The Nike MLB 2023 All-Star Game Jersey honors the regions natural beauty with a print that blends elements of its neighboring ocean, forests, topography and the movement of air. Nature also informs the base colors of the jersey the American League jersey (Home) boasts light teal hues while the National League (Away) jersey sports dark navy hues.
Yes, teal, not Northwest green.
In 2021, as part of an apparel deal reached with Nike, Major League Baseball started having uniforms specifically made for the actual All-Star Game. In years prior, players would wear the All-Star uniforms for the Monday workout and Home Run Derby but then wear their teams uniforms in the Tuesday game.

B. One of the neatest things about the All Star Game is that the players all wear their own uniforms (at least since 1934). It was news when Willie Mays wore Ernie Banks batting helmet in 1965.
C. Its unnecessary. It makes sense in the NFL Pro Bowl and NBA All Star game. You have to quickly identify your teammates. Not true in baseball.
D. Is anyone REALLY going to spend a couple of hundred bucks for these double knit monstrosities?
Edit to add: I was wrong. Some of these pieces of shit are priced at $489.99! These arent even game worn. The game hasnt been played, yet.
Completely agree.
though honestly, I'm not surprised. IMO design, in general, has been regressing over the past 10 or so years to the esthetic of the self-centered and uneducated.

(11,444 posts)Those have to be the absolute most ugly uniforms in the modern history of the sport. Even worse than when the Chicago White Sox wore short pants a few games back in the 1970s. In fact, sports uniforms in general have gone full-blown ugly in in most sports. I remember the days when you could identify both college football teams playing on the tube by just glancing at the TV. Not anymore. The idiots running college football let them change so much, you often have no idea who the hell is playing without using the guide on your remote. I think Oregon wears a different uniform every single week.
