Source: Eagles, QB Jalen Hurts agree to $255M deal
The Philadelphia Eagles and quarterback Jalen Hurts have reached an agreement on a five-year, $255 million extension, including $179.304 million guaranteed, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Monday.
Hurts' deal is the biggest contract in terms of average annual value in NFL history. Deshaun Watson's $230 million contract signed last year with the Cleveland Browns, which is fully guaranteed, still is biggest in terms of guaranteed money.

Fixed it ^^^
I imagine Dee Haslam must've gotten a whole bunch of happy-ending massages from Watson somewhere along the line.
Hurts otoh ... given his age, class, pedigree, and play so far, with near-miss SB win in his third season playing, 2nd season as full-time starter ... I don't begrudge him that deal. He may not play in same style as Mahomes but his trajectory is Mahomes-like.
As a franchise you get a chance at a starting QB likely to play at a high level for a decade ... you pay up.
Congrats Jalen Hurts! Dude's a class act and a great player.

(33,643 posts)described an episode that was particularly egregious. I think the worst I ever read was he rubbed her thigh and made a proposition.
Basically he was going around to masseuses offering money for happy endings.
To me it's tacky AF, but I don't have some huge moral issue with that sort of transaction. He attempted what he thought were 'business deals'. It's not like there aren't sex workers in the massage industry, let's be real.
The thing about it though ... he didn't just get accused once or twice or even five times. It was 20+ women.
That's not just mistakenly reading the situation a few times, that's sex addict behavior. And also likely belies a general disrespect towards women.
And sex addiction is every bit as intractable a problem as alcohol, drug and gambling addictions. Not saying a person can't overcome it and I hope he got a ton of help and is a changed man.
But It's NOT a smart play if you're an owner of an NFL franchise, ESPECIALLY not with that kind of guaranteed money.
A one-year prove it deal I wouldn't have looked THAT askance upon assuming the team did their due diligence, he made his therapy records available to the owners, that kind of thing.
I believe in redemption, addiction recovery, and 2nd chances as a general rule.
But the biggest deal EVER? You gotta be f***ing kidding me
That aspect is what made it really offensive in my book.
