PERFECT! RYAN RAMSEY PITCHES A PERFECT GAME IN NO. 23 TERPS' 13-0 WIN|PERFECT! RYAN RAMSEY PITCHES A PERFECT GAME IN NO. 23 TERPS' 13-0 WIN]

COLLEGE PARK, MD — Ryan Ramsey raised his arms in the air as the No. 23 Maryland baseball players poured out of the dugout. He was perfect.

As Nick Lorusso made a throw across the diamond to seal it, the Dirty Terps were finally able to celebrate. In his first Friday night start, Ramsey retired all 27 hitters he faced.

Coming into the 2022 season, there had only been 33 in NCAA history — just 19 in nine-inning games. Ramsey becomes the first Maryland pitcher to toss a perfecto since Dick Reitz on April 10, 1959, against Johns Hopkins — which was the first perfect game in NCAA Division I history. It was the Terps' first no-hitter since March 1, 2014, when Jake Stinnett no-hit UMass.

"I might coach the rest of my career and never have another one," head coach Rob Vaughn said. "There are no words for that."

The final out.

Ryan Ramsey, you sir are perfect. #DirtyTerps
