LOS ANGELES NFL running back Adrian Peterson was arrested Sunday morning at Los Angeles International Airport, according to a statement from the Los Angeles Airport Police.
Peterson, 36, is accused of verbally and physically assaulting his wife on a plane that was leaving for Houston, where he lives.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, Peterson was arrested at about 9 a.m. and was booked a couple of hours later. He posted a $50,000 bond and was released.
His wife remained on the flight, police said. According to several posts on Peterson's Twitter account, he and his wife had been in Los Angeles for events surrounding the Super Bowl.

(5,170 posts)Yes. What he did to his kid was horrible. He got counseling for it. I think what the court/NFL missed with that one was the opportunity to have him be a speaker to change the way people see/saw child punishment. The texts to his wife indicate that he thought (remember; I agree what he did was horrible) it wasn't as bad because he didn't use an extension cord like his dad did. He is clearly a product of severe child abuse and thought he was working toward breaking that cycle. Was he breaking it? No. But he seemed to be trying.
Plus there were a lot of articles at the time about the demands of disciplining a child of color vs a white child that I could find if you want.
If this new charge is true (which I have no reason to believe it isn't), then I have nothing other than it isn't surprising from the child of an abusive parent.
