College Lacrosse is Back: Goldsmith, Dooley, Klepper Lead Scoring in Decisive Mercer Win

The 2022 lacrosse season has officially begun in men's Division I, as Mercer took down rival Bellarmine, 9-4 on Saturday afternoon in Macon, Ga.

For the second-straight season, the matchup hailed the return of lacrosse — [link:hhttps://www.insidelacrosse.com/article/bellarmine-overcomes-face-off-deficit-smothers-mercer-o-in-9-7-win/57213ttp://|last year's being a rallying cry for the sport after the pandemic shutdown 2020]. it's not on the IMSA calendar. The finale is a ten hour event at Road Atlanta.
Having the Daytona 24 hour race at the end of January allows a number of high profile drivers from other types of racing to join in before getting dedicated to their own series, such as Indycar and Nascar.

Usually it's warmer but this year most of the race was run under 40 degrees. Cold tires don't grip as good.
