I wasn't going to post it, but one of my friends here, did so yesterday on GD...
I have never been to an awards ceremony, and have been doing this since Occupy started.

(154,021 posts)Though some of the characters in real life are indeed, stranger than fiction.
people would never believe me if I write the truth...it's too unbelievable sometimes.
Food at the shindig? Anything good?

(154,021 posts)one of our local cities is small enough where dirty politics is done by the council member himself, NOT the staff.
And of course four of the candidates running for office, three are incumbents, are all from the same church.

(18,186 posts)To be honest, a shindig is a party with food and alcohol ( unless one is Southern Baptist and then the drinkin' is done behind the wood shed )
so I was wondering at the awards thingy if they had/will have any good food!
nadinbrzezinski
(154,021 posts)since we don't drink, either hubby or me... I hope they got good coffee.
They have food from many restaurants in town.
And I will have to actually dress up, something I rarely do when in the field.

Yes, good coffee and a few nice desserts and I can have a great time. Get that caffeine/sugar rush instead of the alchohol buzz
I'm sure you will have a grand time, and you should post pics of your award when you return.
