Related: About this forumUh oh. Another one started.
Apparently, my creative side is pissed!
So far, in response to an excellent tweet, this just tumbled out...
Every time Im on the brink
You pull me back so I dont sink
The lies, so dead, begin to stink
Id like to buy the truth a drink.
Im hoping this one will be more subtle. Ill post back if it comes out fairly well.
🤞

(621 posts)Time is wasted on the youth
They cant tell white lies from the truth
When the story breaks this time for real
Find a way to just not feel
For all of your indignant ways
You question your beliefs these days
Forgive me if I dont reply
Twitter lives while people die
Every time Im on the brink
You pull me back so I dont sink
The lies, so dead, begin to stink
Id like to buy the truth a drink.
Why cant you look me in the eyes
You know I know its all been lies
Forgive me if I look astray
For you, this is the only way
I try hard to erase your voice
What is freedom, what is choice
Your crooked tongue has gotten old
Unlike you, I wont be sold.
Every time Im on the brink
You pull me back so I dont sink
The lies, so dead, begin to stink
Id like to buy the truth a drink.

(621 posts)Dont know if this one would be acceptable. As straight poetry, I wouldnt repeat the buy the truth quatrain. It would just be last.
