(10,237 posts)...Larry the Cable Guy gets on my nerves whenever he annoints himself to be the voice of America's working families. I'm the husband/father in one of those working families and he does NOT speak for my wife or I.
It used to annoy me when Brett Butlerused to do the same thing.
PEACE!

Larry the Cable Guy is onto something.
Why do you gotta complain about everything?
In this interview with Larry King, Larry the Cable Guy asks, Why cant people mind their own business? Larry the Interviewer Guy pushes his names sake on that sentiment with a question that set off the Cable Guy:
Larry the Interviewer Guy: But on the other side, do you care if gays play football or get married?
Larry the Cable Guy: You know what? Im so sick of hearing about gay this and gay that. I could care less It aint affecting my life at all. You know, look. It gets so irritating. Enough. I wish people I dont know when we turned into a nation of 3 year old babies, but everything offends everybody. Everything offends. We live in the freest, greatest country in the world. Thats why there are so many people bitching about stuff because they have it too good in this country We live in America. Lighten up! Just enjoy your life. Enjoy being an American. Its a great country. Why do you gotta complain about everything?

(1,805 posts)The fact that Larry said "I could care less" instead of "I couldn't care less" speaks volumes. Not trying to be the grammar police, just sayin'.

(18,470 posts)This was about 20 years ago. I had all the CDs and the like and would play them regularly, along with some of his books.
It has been years since I've listened or watched Jeff Foxworthy. Even if he came to where I live I don't think I'd shell out the money to go to a live performance.
It's not even so much Foxworthy's politics, though the fact that he's a right winger isn't earning any points with me. I guess I just outgrew his brand of humor as the years have gone on and my own political views have evolved to the point that all this "redneck" stuff isn't as funny as it used to be, especially since that whole sub culture seems to seethe with hatred.
