Anybody else reading "A Promised Land" by Barack Obama?

Fascinating look at the presidency so far. He is a truly gifted writer, and many of his insights are extremely moving.

And, damn, am I glad he was POTUS during the financial crisis, rather than someone else (who shall remain nameless).

I just finished the chapter where he discusses visiting wounded troops, and how it’s easier to make calls on policy from the “cheap seats”, where there are no consequences of any decisions.

I really miss him.

I liked Dreams of My Father better, but this is also very good.

he really is a very good writer. The tone is conversational...really well done. And having been born and raised in Illinois, I especially enjoyed the parts about his early career there. Totally forgot he got crushed by Bobby Rush in a congressional election...

Remember reading "Sins of my Father" and thinking - wow - amazing author.

6. I've been savoring it slowly

It's a phenomenal book and I can hear President Obama talking as I'm reading. The insights are fascinating. I highly recommend it.

7. It is an excellent book; reflects the intelligence and ambitious goals he strived to enact.

Glad he is including the extremely difficulties with Congress. Only half way through it - not sure how far in his two terms it goes.
