I read the first book and most of the second ages ago. Today I read the wiki synopsis of the rest of the big novels. I'm glad I didn't go further. The ninth book is supposed to be out already. I would feel so bogged down trying to get through all of these novels for one detailed, multi-generational story.

I was just trying to tie up the evening appearance below Claire's window of the Highlander (presumably Jamie) in the Scottish town where Claire and Frank were staying in 1948. So far, Jamie's arrival in the 20th century is unmentioned beyond what Frank saw the night before Claire first disappeared.

I read the first 3 books last year. Loved the first 2. Rolled my eyes a few times during the 3rd. When I started on the 4th, The Drums of Autumn, I just could not stay with it any longer.

I don't recall that visitor under the window ever being mentioned again. Maybe that was Roger, as he did go back in time.

a kilt, looking up towards Claire's bedroom window the night before her first trip through the stones. Frank saw the man, but it was dark. I can't imagine why it would be Roger, though.

Yeah, it's just too much story for me. I can't remember a hundred characters and everything about them. And I don't want to.
