As for me, I never even knew there was such a genre and I have a son-in-law who is a pilot. lol

(6,271 posts)Weirdly enough, for instance, there was a magazine called "Zeppelin Stories." It had a short published life and is enormously collectable today.
Aviation pulps translated well; they had nearly as much popularity overseas as they had here.

(3,821 posts)by Charles Nordhoff. I never read it but a friend raved about it. On amazon someone mentions this book as a good companion novel to read along with it: Fighting the Flying Circus by Eddie Rickenbacher
I have another one but can't recall it right now. When I find it I'll post it for you.

(23,156 posts)It's a memoir, not a novel. He became a commercial airline pilot in the 1930's. I read it some years ago, and have been meaning to re-read for years.
