Related: About this forumI'm recommending the books by Iona Whishaw.
She's a Canadian author, and the books revolve around one Lane Winslow, who shortly after the end of WWII relocates from England to a small town in western Canada to start a new life. Then a body shows up on her property and she's involved in figuring out who died, and why. Really good. It's the first of nine novels so far.
1. Dead In The Water (2015)
2. Death in a Darkening Mist (2017)
3. An Old, Cold Grave (2017)
4. It Begins in Betrayal (2018)
5. A Sorrowful Sanctuary (2018)
6. A Deceptive Devotion (2019)
7. A Match Made for Murder (2020)
8. A Lethal Lesson (2021)
9. Framed in Fire (2022)
I have read the first eight, and have the ninth on pre-order with Amazon.
I will also add that I went to high school with Iona, and she's both a nice person and a wonderful writer.

(26,607 posts)I get to see her every few years, either when we are both in Tucson, where we went to high school, or if she passes through Santa Fe, where I live, on her way back to Canada.

(59,458 posts)Sadly, library doesn't have any in e version, but I've put holds on all of them. I think when enough people request a book, they buy another copy. 🤞
