World Book Day

Reading a publisher blog I regularly check out I saw this reminder of World Book Day: http://www.us.worldbooknight.org/about-world-book-night/register-as-a-2012-giver

With some sense of excitement I went to the site but I paused and haven't applied to be a giver. It is interesting that you have to apply to be a giver. My head was filled with all the good books I could give, but which one would I choose and WHY? What do I think giving the book I choose to people will do for them for everyone?

I still hope to be a giver but I going to have to put some thought into this and I'm not even sure what criteria I should follow.

you don't have to do it that way---and you can still circulate books. I give them to the library for their book sales. I also will leave books at the laundromat, the hospital waiting rooms, doctor's offices, coffee shops, etc. I just put a sticky note on the inside cover that says please read me and pass it on.

Just noticing what it implies. It makes me have to be much more aware of my choice and motives. Not a bad thing.

I notice they have a specific list of books to choose from anyway, so that makes it easier.

On edit: When I said that I would have to give it some thought, I didn't mean I had to consider participating, just that I had to give more thought to my choice of book.
