(8,425 posts)she's a best-selling author, an artist, and an educator. It seems likely to me that her purchases of properties were earned legally. Is there some rule that says a female black activist can't earn and spend money?

Here try this:

From the article below
"Last month AP reported that BLM brought in $90 million in donations last year, leading to Michael Brown Sr. to join other Black Lives Matter activists demanding $20 million from the Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation.
Brown, whose son Michael Brown Jr., was killed by police in Ferguson, Missouri, in 2014 says he and his advocacy group have been short-changed by the larger BLM organization.
'Why hasn't my family's foundation received any assistance from the movement?' Brown asked in a statement."

(8,425 posts)but it just sounded too much like a bullshit right-wing hit job to me. They're always trying to make BLM look bad, and don't get me started on their attacks on successful black women.
I don't have knowledge of how BLM is set up or how they use their money, but they've denied having purchased the property and they deny paying her outrageous sums. When I start seeing this posted by right-wing groups on Facebook, I tend to be suspicious of the underlying story.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Breonna Taylors mother called out Black Lives Matter Louisville and Kentucky Rep. Attica Scott, using the word fraud to describe both in a Facebook post.
I have never personally dealt with BLM Louisville and personally have found them to be fraud, Attica Scott another fraud, Tamika Palmer wrote Wednesday.
