This really isn't a difficult or hard thing. When you cater to and get elected because of a certain crowd, you take on different responsibilities than someone who ran on values counter than that.

I totally agree. I live in SW VA, I want him to resign. Let our Lt. Governor take over. We are better than Republicans. Sorry, he knew this was out there. He can be a doctor with this in his past but, not a Democratic Governor in the South. Do we really expect AA, or any democrat for that matter to support him?

5. This argument is the most compelling I've heard

I was wrestling with the whole "this was a long time ago" versus "kick him out" debate until I hit a statement similar to this one: Northam won with the AA vote.

That really put the issue into perspective. Thank you.

There is a god awful history of white doctors & POC. Fast examples tuskegee experiment & untreated syphilis, Henrietta Lacks & her stolen cells, used in cancer research, too numerous to talk/tell about WOC & prenatal care & childbirth.

It's not only the photo and what that says about two students, but about any organization that considered that photo appropriate for a yearbook. That tells me the entire community around Northam was racist.
