Iconic vocalist Nancy Wilson, who topped the music charts with jazz standards, Broadway show tunes, R&B ballads and popular pop pieces, died Thursday at her home in Pioneertown, Calif.

Her version of "Nearness of You" with George Shearing was my wedding song for my first marriage. My ex took the furniture but I kept the song

As I said in another OP, I know many Nancys in my lifetime named for her, including my niece.

She was my grandfather's favorite star. "They don't make them like that, anymore", he's say. She represented an era of star that was equal parts class, glamour, and talent. Well, heaven is a lot more jazzy than it was before her arrival!
