If you don't mind...
In Sumter SC, a man and his girlfriend are arguing, the article does not state if things were physical. Police are called and the man runs. A car chase ensues which ends in a crash. The man breaks out a window and flees on foot.
He is tackled almost immediately. At this point, he is face down on the ground and at least 3 Police Officers open fire.
At least 24 shots form at least 3 cops. He is hit 19 times and pronounced dead at the scene. Depressing and unnecessary but unfortunately not a surprise.
But then there is the damn cherry on top that somehow just twisted my outrage amplifier up to 11. Read this smug nonchalant dismissal of his department's racist murdering incompetence. Be amazed by the cynical deflection and simple stunning arrogance of this fucking fuck.
"This incident shows the devastating, far-reaching effects of domestic violence on individuals, families, law enforcement, the Sumter community and the state as a whole."

(57,272 posts)The man was on the ground, no longer any kind of threat, and they shoot at him 24 times, hitting him 19 times.
Too many racist cops still on police forces around the country.
What else could explain this?
What? They just get off on shooting unarmed black men?
What is up with these cops?

(18,124 posts)and more will take place in this present political and racial climate. I presume he was AA but couldn't find a photo at link or in their news. If he had a gun and fired at police officers he was then taking his chances....yet to have that many shots into his body shows me a lot of hate and fear of this individual.

(18,124 posts)I just hope these type of murders don't get worse. Such fear and hate....I feel it everyday in my line of part-time work. Ride-share and NOT for Uber.

(25,187 posts)Disappointment and mean no disrespect in asking this but have you ever lived in Sumter? I'm certainly not expecting Jeff Sessions fight for social justice in this regard.
I know geography is no excuse for this outrageous behavior. I wonder if they even see it as a problem much less the disaster and injustice that it is.

I don't know what to say, The Polack MSgt, except my heart is with the family.
