(Cross posted in the DU Lounge)
Okay, been taking a little over a month now. I was having foot pain, for which I saw a doctor (tests scheduled for Feb. 17). While the soles of my feet are still jacked up, the pain in my toes and the top of my feet is completely gone. Look, I don't know if this is the placebo effect, my imagination and wishful thinking, or what - but that pain is gone, and has been for about 2 weeks.
Also, I am definitely sleeping better. I still wake up numerous times, but instead of fighting to go back to sleep, I fall back asleep within a minute or two. Wake up feeling rested.
My mood is improved.
YMMV.
I am not recommending, but simply sharing my experience. I'd like to know what you've experienced. (FWIW, I was a daily MJ smoker for 30 years, but I have both heart and lung disease so can't partake. I'm okay with that.)
I'm going to cross post this in the Senior's group.

(12,474 posts)I tried it and didn't have much luck with it, but I may have not taken the right strength or something. I would love it if it would help me sleep.

I got it from Bluebird Botanicals, which carries a bunch of different ones. This is "Hemp Extract Complete." I take about .50 ml a day at about 1:30 pm. it has taken about 3+ weeks for me to feel any effects.
sub-lingual, I hold it in my mouth about 15 minutes. Good luck if you decide to give it a try.
ETA a decimal point in front of the dosage.

Last week he returned to work, crediting the oil for his recovery.

(14,607 posts)I also have peripheral neuropathy and it lessens the tingles. my buddy is in the cosmetic industry and got this stuff from a sports medicine doc at a convention.. private label...
One thing that needs to be done is to standardize the amt of CBD in each product.. When I looked it was all over the place. One news program had some products tested at a "certified" lab and the doses were all over the place.

(2,965 posts)And are there any other things (peppermint oil, menthol, others) in it? Im also with PN and terribly discouraged with the pain.

I am far from an expert on this stuff. Go to the Bluebird Botanicals website, even if you don't order from them, they have a lot of info available.

(14,607 posts)It has menthol and camphor in it also. I don't care for the smell but it does the job. It's called
CBD clinic and states "professional strength level 5"... sounds like marketing bull to me...

(2,965 posts)And CBD products usually have the amount on the label. But if this is brewed in a back room then maybe it doesnt. Very helpful to me to know that it has menthol. By itself, menthol can have an effect on peripheral nerves.

(14,607 posts)That's why it should have some sort of regulation so you can compare apples to apples etc..
At this point you don't know what % your getting..

(2,965 posts)of CBD in the jar and you have to figure out the percentage. Only some tell you the percentageand then theres those that dont give you that info. Still, if that product is working for you then its a keeper.
