(5,376 posts)His voice, his music, his poetry, his calm and comforting presence...man, what memories! He saw me through many a lonely time back then. I still have his albums, and was playing them recently.
Thank you for this post and for the reminder of that long-ago time when he gently lifted my spirit by his words and tunes. What a joy you've brought me, along with a flood of peaceful memories.

(9,605 posts)I thought he sucked - well, his "poetry" did, anyway. Guess I'm an outlier here. So smarmy, and not very good at it.
I was more of an Erica Jong or Sylvia Plath kinda girl.

(8,604 posts)So many hours spent listening to his first 2 albums. He warmed this young girl's heart. All too soon I discovered reality wasn't going to ever be like his visions, though. Sigh....
