(30,272 posts)That's where this one usually can eventually be found. Speaking of geezers, the Kingston Trio was here the night before last.

(54,270 posts)Is this the second generation iteration of the Trio?
Or third?

(54,270 posts)The group started as a San Francisco Bay Area nightclub act with an original lineup of Dave Guard, Bob Shane, and Nick Reynolds.
In early August, 2017 sole owner of the Kingston Trio Bob Shane announced the licensing of the trademark that he owns to a new group of investors who are making changes to the band's personnel. Shane announced on the group's official website www.kingstontrio.com that
I am pleased to announce the Kingston Trio legacy will be carried forth by Josh Reynolds, Mike Marvin and Tim Gorelangton, who will begin performing as the Kingston Trio in October 2017. As you all know, Josh is the son of founding member, and my friend and partner Nick Reynolds, and Mike Marvin is Nicks cousin. Rounding it out is Tim Gorelangton, one of the only people Nick ever recorded with outside the Trio. It was Nick Reynolds and my fondest hope that Josh and Mike would carry on the Trio and family legacy.

(40,416 posts)My pace of geezing is not likely to change too much, but neither are my physical abilities likely to increase.
Just keeping things as copacetic as possible is enough for me.

(34,349 posts)as a PRE Geezer but now that I have crossed the 64 with 65 looming in the distance I must come on over to the Geezer side. Not that I am not proud of that, I am.
Look at the history we have lived through! Just think of what the next generations are going to deal with. I think we were in many ways lucky and did quite well among all the misery that actually defined a lot of what we are. We had us some fun and made some damned good music and art. I am perfectly happy to not have to figure out how to live during the next 100 years. What a mess others of our generation added to. I just wish we had continued to make things better, we tried.

The Seniors' Forum (please note the correct placement of the apostrophe) has been moribund of late.
We need to talk more.

(12,882 posts)I've been here, just over ten years. What I've witnessed is an ever-constricting choke-chain of censorship and purity purges. The "rules" have morphed from common sense to volumes that would make Terms Of Service contracts look like First Grade reading exercises. Anymore, it's laughably easy to elicit an alert by playing with one or two of the "No-No" words in a post. This "place" makes me envision a History classroom where all those in attendance have tape over their mouths.....
"Good morning class! Today we'll be discussing freedom and definitions thereof through history. First though, I must ask that you read ALL the restrictions regarding interactions between you an' me an' your fellow classmates. Once you've mastered this ambitious contract and signed a pledge of conformity, we'll remove the tape from oratory orafice. And once the tape is off, you'll be monitored to see if you have enough of an understanding of how I see freedom and consequently how YOU can talk of it here.
Please also take note of the box on the desk in front of you. Go ahead and open it. Take out the flag-themed blinders and put them on. Adjust them to where they're comfortable enough to be worn 24/7. Think of them as a teaching aid. The eventual aim of this class will be for you to feel free to discuss any topic that's not described on the 40-page list of exceptions."
"Cap'n! Cap'n! There's a HUGE breach of the hull aft of the engine room! Should I sound general alarm, sir?"
" No - not now. Can't you see I'm concentrating on which way the shrimp should be arranged on the cocktail appetizer plates? My sole aim is to ultimately be recognized as a master of attention to details."

Trying to keep up with my house, get laundry done, load the dishwasher, get basic groceries, take my prescribed pills morning and night, shower, but not as frequently as in the past, pay bills as they come in so that I don't forget them, read the daily paper, read local obituaries online, tend to some needs of disabled daughter, and brush my teeth at least 2xday.
And I've mailed my absentee ballot for Ohio's primary on May 8.
Always hoping for the best of outcomes.
