Related: About this forumHey, "Medicare provider" or whoever you were on the phone..
A real agency would send a letter, not call.
There was actually a real person - perhaps an AI - and not calling form Mumbai. I picked up the phone: Am I talking to - mentioned my name?
May I ask who is calling, I asked.
This is from the Medicare Provider.
I just hung up without saying a word.

(92,340 posts)When they get to the part that gives them away, I laugh loudly as I hang up. I think a little pang of humiliation is warranted on their part for bothering me.

(18,086 posts)I ignore them and they leave a voicemail for me to call back to talk about my health. These calls are actually from UHC. I answered one yesterday and a robot wanted me to take a five minute survey about my health. I repeated no until it understood.
My position is that I don't discuss my health with an insurer. My health concerns and care are addressed by a team of physicians I know and trust. As a supplement to Medicare they don't have any input to my care, so why do they need additional info about me?
