is very clear that being born in the US does not confer citizenship on family of accredited diplomats. It's really too bad for the young man but it's something he should probably have looked into before finding out the hard way now.

eligible. But family members of foreign diplomats are automatically excluded since they are not governed by or subject to our laws.
