Margaret Brennan is a Correspondent for CBS News. Margaret Brennan is principally assigned to the State Department and also serves as a general assignment correspondent based in Washington, D.C.

Brennan was born in Connecticut to Ed & Jane Brennan and attended Convent of the Sacred Heart in Greenwich, Connecticut. She graduated with highest distinction from the University of Virginia in 2002. Brennan is a term member at the Council on Foreign Relations, a Whitehead Fellow with the Foreign Policy Association, a member of the Economic Club of New York, serves on the Advisory Board of the Smurfit School of Business at the University College Dublin. She received a B.A. in Foreign Affairs and was named an Emmerich-Wright scholar for an outstanding thesis. Brennan also received a B.A. in Middle East Studies with a minor in Arabic language. Brennan studied Arabic at Yarmouk University in Irbid, Jordan on a Fulbright-Hayes Grant.
