The Associated Press ran a skeptical piece Sunday about the Obama administration's public case for military intervention in Syria in response to a reported Aug. 21 chemical attack.
The AP's Zeina Karam and Kimberly Dozier wrote that "the U.S. government insists it has the intelligence to prove it, but the public has yet to see a single piece of concrete evidence produced by U.S. intelligence -- no satellite imagery, no transcripts of Syrian military communications -- connecting the government of President Bashar Assad to the alleged chemical weapons attack last month that killed hundreds of people."
The Obama administration has released videos to make its case, but the AP noted that its requests for additional evidence the government claims to possess have been denied:

Last week, AP investigative editor Ted Bridis urged reporters and editors to "dive deep into questions about quantifying and understanding the U.S. government's justification for military intervention in Syria, which increasingly seems inevitable," according to a memo obtained by The Huffington Post.

(36,418 posts)The Obama Administration has just about lost whatever credibility it once had as an honest broker on this issue. When AP starts asking probing questions about foreign policy, you know that the White House is in uncharted territory.

(40 posts)show the pictures and say they are mobile chemical weapons processing facilities or better yet get a few Syrians to come to Congress and say how Assad is throwing newborns on the ground and taking the incubators.
Just because I say so is not a justification for going to war even Darth Cheney knew that and created a dog and pony show to sell the war to America and the world.
Mr President your pals in the MIC and Wall Street have excellent marking departments perhaps you should use them if you really want a war.

(31,849 posts)you'll have to wait for that. I don't see a president jeb, anywhere in the near future ... but if you work reallly, really hard at bashing Democrats, might get your wish in 2020, or maybe 2024.

Well that's good enough for me to piss away money for U.S. roads, schools, food programs, heating oil subsidies for the elderly, unemployment benefits, and all that other stuff that actually helps U.S. citizens. No commitment of money or military lives is too great to help the oil companies weasel their way into another strategic oil market.
