Lawrence: Bill Bradley did the most dramatic thing I ever saw on the Senate floor

I gathered signatures for his presidential campaign when I was 12 in lower Manhattan. I ended up working on campaigns in six different states.

I love Lawrence's narrations. Not to stereotype, but the Irish really have a gift for storytelling.

I saw it last night and was so moved by him. A worthy moment to watch, if you are on the edge. flying_wahini Mar 2024 #2

Bill Bradley is a treasure and so is LOD.

It is true, the Irish are consummate story tellers.
Their rich oral tradition goes back to Celtic times.
Passionate, witty, entertaining,

The British subjugated the Irish for over a thousand years.
And refused to let the Irish learn to read or write.
Forced them to speak English in public.
Part of why there is such a rich oral tradition behind closed doors.

My Irish grandparents used to tell me stores about Ireland,
the little people, leprechauns, etc. It was enchanting.

potato famine. Yes the potato crop suffered but there was plenty of food in Ireland.
It was just "owned" by the landed British gentry .
While people were dying, the British were exporting Irish grain, peas, beans meat and honey to England. The history shows they only cared about them self and the profits they could generate...Uff
