Americans who hold the musket-rights granting Second Amendment near and dear to their hearts...

I have an issue with the reference to muskets since the 2A names "arms" not muskets and many federal, state and local laws address lawful activities involving other types of guns.
I consider "rights granting" to be offensive in view of centuries of judicial precedent determining that the Bill of Rights is a protection for preexisting rights and not a means of rights creation.

Sensationalism and hyperbole undermines credibility.

The Muskets and arms refer to the weapons of the time is my take on it.

There are no quotes in the linked article nor any reference attributing any of the text to another person.

read the work OPINION in the title to the 'story'. So, like your overly didactic self serving post, this is NOT journalism and has all the validity of anything posted here.

Journalism is the production and distribution of reports on the interaction of events, facts, ideas, and people that are the "news of the day" and that informs society to at least some degree.

The Herald is a source of public information and the article linked seemed to convey some politically based IDEAS which IMO loosely falls under the heading of journalism. My pointed difficulty has to do with:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Journalism#Ethics_and_standards
"While various existing codes have some differences, most share common elements including the principles of – truthfulness, accuracy, objectivity, impartiality, fairness and public accountability – as these apply to the acquisition of newsworthy information and its subsequent dissemination to the public."

The Herald is a source of information and as a recognized journalistic outlet labels all OPINION as OPINION so as to differentiate it from journalism. Like letters to the editor and poorly thought out didactic posts on DU there is a place for OPINION as long as it is clearly labeled as such which the Herald did.

Face it dude, you screwed up. Admit it and go about your day 'cause the first rule of holes is when you're in one stop digging.

Referring to OPINION as journnalism is a major faux pas.

You know it, I know it and I'm not letting you get away with pretending different.

You screwed up and for the purpose of maligning any journalistic work that points out the misinformation the gun lobby puts out called it journalism. Amdit it it, you let your bias show.
If you walk like a duck and quack like a duck and have webbed feet your are another gun propagandist and devoid of ethics when talking about guns.

Subject line to completely change it and the meaning of the conversation. Being caught en flagrant you attempt to edit history!

In the OP you question credibility, well, you've pretty well established yours. With that reputation and $10 you might get a cup of coffee at Starbucks.

I'm bookmarking this for your next example of "truthiness".
