OPM widens benefits for same sex partners of federal employees (expanding 'insurable interest').


For those tracking what the federal government is doing to expand benefits to be more inclusive of same sex partnerships.

OPM issued new guidelines for defining insurable interest (who can become a legal beneficiary). Here below is the guideline and even more interesting OPM responses to various comments made on the June 20th "Final Rule".
