December 1941
Der Fuhrer seems pretty damn glum for a guy celebrating the birth of the Christ Child. This was the Yuletide right after his big blitz into Russia got bogged down fighting "General Winter," despite his own advisors' assurances it'd all be over by Hanukkah. And on top of that, his distant allies in Japan had just gone and done something silly in Hawaii that he was certain would be nothing but trouble in the long run. So, it's no fun for the holidays for Adolf Hitler here. But at least he can look forward to Santa helping him with his coal shortage problems (one stocking at a time!).

The first guy facing left looks a little like Goebbels, but I wouldn't wager money on it. The guy facing us, sitting next to Adolf looks awfully familiar, but I can't immediately put a name with his face.
From left to right in the bottom photograph:
Yes, that's Goering. The guy on the other side of Hitler might be Fransisco Franco. I think the guy next to him is Oskar Dirlewanger (giggle). Martin Bormann possibly, on the far right.

(4,015 posts)... While this is obviously some sort of party function. I'm not sure that this is 1941, either. The source of these pics might have lied about the dates in order to mask his long-term involvement with the movement (not the famous Heinrich Hoffmann, but less well known Hugo Jaeger).
