John Adams: I Must Study Politics, War, Sons Have Liberty to Study Math, Philosophy, Children Study Ptg, Poetry

📃 "The science of government it is my duty to study, more than all other sciences; the arts of legislation and administration and negotiation ought to take the place of, indeed exclude, in a manner, all other arts.

🗽I must study politics and war, that our sons may have liberty to study mathematics and philosophy.

Our sons ought to study mathematics and philosophy, geography, natural history and naval architecture, navigation, commerce and agriculture in order to give their children a right to study painting, poetry, music, architecture, statuary, tapestry and porcelain.”

Sadly this has been going on for nearly 250 years. The jury is still out on my and my generations success. Some generations ( the greatest generation, the WWII warriors) have done better than others. There will be plenty of stress tests in the near future.

issue with those who try to lump in all boomers with the disastrous free market, Reagan era that's decimated the US middle class, fostered culture wars, corporate greed and the instability and division that plague the country. Not this boomer.

Reagan lifted the regs so that right wing Australian media mogul, Rupert Murdock could become a US citizen. Fox News poison was born. The Murdock media machine had already damaged unions and democracy in the UK and Australia.
