near downtown Brooklyn, causing my college classmate to come running into class yelling :”a missile! a missile landed on Flatbush Ave!” It was the height of the cold war. Within a few minutes, even in the pre-internet age, word came from the college admin of the true situation and asked for blood donors to line up outside the college medical office. A few minutes later we were disbursed with the news that the only survivor, a young boy, had also died.
