(3,000 posts)1. I lost my old buddy Rocco a few weeks ago
and I miss him terribly. He was 17 years old, a noble elderly gentleman. My heart goes out to all who lose a beloved pet.

(3,000 posts)6. Thank you
My wife uploaded a nice picture of him on his 17th birthday onto my phone, a few weeks before he left us, and it makes me sad to look at it. Thanks very much.

(10,760 posts)5. Losing them is a pain unlike any other.
It can't even be explained to people who have never gone through it. But to those who have, you know, the pain is very real and cuts like a knife. Not that there aren't other things in life that give us horrible pain because there are. But they aren't all the same kind of pain. It's just different.
