I lost my phone, today. Looked everywhere. I CAN'T LOSE MY KIDCAT PHOTOS!!

After about the 12 search in the yard and gardens I found it face up on some black landscaping fabric in the garden. Duh.

Almost as soon as I found it, Dewi came running up, meowing up a storm. I think he was suggesting I celebrate finding my phone by taking yet another photo of him. So, I did.

So many times I’ve been on jobs where do workers or clients lose their phones we get their number and call them and locate their phone. I rarely panic anymore when I misplace my phone!

And the funny thing is, Consumer Cellular just sent me a new, upgraded SIM card. I'll install that, tonight.

it was because Ember hid it under the couch.

I used to use the alarm on an old push button cell phone to wake me up if I took a nap on the couch. Ember did not like the sound of the alarm. So, she attacked it until she hit the right button to make it go silent, then dragged it to the floor and pushed it under the couch with her nose.

When it was missing, I searched everywhere and finally moved the couch. There it was, lined up next to her aluminum ball collection.

I couldn't figure how how she did that, so I set the alarm again for 2 minutes, placed it on the coffee table, and waited. Sure enough. The instant that the phone made a sound, Ember was on it. Whack, slam, and pow with her paws until, by chance, she shut it off. Then, under the couch it went.

That explained to me why my radio alarm had stopped working, which is why I was using the phone alarm.

Next time, I put the phone inside Ember's carrier, with the gate closed, and put the carrier on the coffee table. It was safe from Ember's attack. But I woke up to a loud clatter. When Ember could not get to the phone, she knocked the whole carrier to the floor.

She does not like loud or unusual noises.

So you can hear the ring and track it down. Do this right away before the battery goes down to 0%

Save your photos on your phone to Google or something. They will be there if you have to replace your phone. (These darn little hitch hikers to the galaxy have become almost more important than a towel. (In reference to my all time favorite book, Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy) My point is how scary important my cell phone has become to me. Someday, I'll be attending 12 step groups to help myself.

and another device, can locate the phone by typing in android.com/find on the device. It will bring up a screen for Google Find My Device--your android phone--and give you an option to play sound where the phone will ring for 5 minutes, even if set on silent.

My techie son told me about this. Just tested it with my phone and it works.

It HAD to be here somewhere because I haven't left the property, today. I figured if I put it down it would have been in the garden but I checked SO many times. Then I remembered pulling some garlic growing next to the garden barn and there it was. It just blended in with the black landscaping fabric.

At least the phone has to be on your google account I think.

I had to do this when I left the phone at a restaurant. It actually pinpointed the precise address on the map. Very helpful.
I don't know if it works if the power is off on the phone though.

I feel like I want that little kitty... but I may have to hold back & limit us to three. 😁

Or maybe not... 🤔

Can I ask, do you have a GoFundMe or some other way that I could contribute to your kitty expenses? You do so much to save these sweet little lives & I know it takes money out of your pocket (I fostered for years) & I would be happy to contribute to cover your expenses & reward you for all that you do for these precious little ones.

I'm sure there are other folks on DU who feel the same. ❤

I just say, "Alexa, find my phone," and it rings. I don't know what Alexa's range is, or whether this would work outside the house, but it sure has come in handy when I've lost the phone - typically under a pile of books.
