I headed out to check the veg garden and saw little Dewi jumping up on the back door.

This is the first time, that I've seen, he's been in the yard before late afternoon.

I brought out some pate and sat the bowl right next to me. He chowed down - no hesitation. AND his eyes were both clean and clear, this morning. Last night I cleared away a lot of goo from his right eye and some dried stuff from his left one.

His mom is just lounging around in the back yard.

My mind is totally blown by this rapid acceptance by little Dewi.

So to speak, among the kitties.

My dear friend was the harborer of feral cats, like you, she kept some. The rest came and went from "the room" where shelter and food could be found but entry was upon invitation of the house kitties who regulated who came and went. Usually those who were invited were pregnant and needed a safe place for a spell, and food.

The house kitties seemed to have informed their guests that the lady in the house was safe and would check you out but would take good care of you if you had medical issues and maybe get you fixed at a safe time if you hang around long enough. We decided this had to be happening as we watched the dynamics for over twenty years.

She (we) lived in a neighborhood right next to the university campus and students were always coming and going, many left their pets behind when they left the neighborhood. My friend got the neighborhood association to create a fund for feral cats to be caught, spayed and released or adopted. They work with the shelter in town, I was often called to coax cats out of trees and strange places. There was a giant yard sale/bazaar every year to fund the program.

Looks like socializing won't be tough with this little guy. He's so sweet looking, like all the others!

From outside and took up residence on my second floor deck, before I took him in
