Carys' limp is back

When she was still a small feral kitten she had a significant limp in her left back leg. It eventually resolved before I ever brought her inside.

This morning I noticed the limp is back, but not nearly as bad as it was before. It hasn't slowed her down and doesn't seem to be causing any discomfort so I'll just keep an eye on it before I rush her off to the vet. One thing for sure - no more laser light play until it's gone.

It just really surprised me because she hasn't been overly rambunctious. I am going to and make sure she doesn't have an injury to her foot. That will have to wait, though, because I just finished vacuuming so I have NO idea where she has taken shelter.

I once thought one of my dogs' had injured his leg. It turned out he just had a sticker in between the pads of his paw. I pulled it out for him and he was back to normal. I know cats are much better at removing these types of things than dogs are, but sometimes they need help too. Good luck. I hope she improves without the need for a vet visit.

7. I'm waiting for her to decide she will let me pick her up. It's ALL on her terms.

Some days she's very snuggly and others she keeps her distance. One thing Carys has taught me is patience.

I am going to check her paw, as soon as I can.

10. I totally understand. We want to help them, but we can't explain it in a way they will understand.

I've had to tell a few vets that I want to treat my pet, but not torture them. 3 of my cats spend most of their time outside. If they need antibiotics I always pay for the shot rather than do the pills. I don't mind if my vet has to be the "bad guy", but I don't want my cats thinking of me that way. I had one vet send my wife home with pills for the cat that were too big for her to swallow. I went to see if I could crush them but they were liquid gels so that didn't work out. We had to go back for shots instead. Good luck with Carys I'm sure she'll come around.

8. My cat Candy sprained her front foot.

I didn't see it happen. I noticed that when she sat down she would lift her foot up and she didn't place a lot of pressure on that foot when she walked. I felt her foot a little to see if she would react, she didn't. It took like 3 weeks to get totally better. After that I figured out how she probably did it. She's 16 years old and zooms around like she is 2 years old. She jumps from chair back to chair back to the cat tree and is totally nutz. Not much I can do about that. She got a lot more attention then and now when she wants some more attention she lifts that foot up.
