Related: About this forumToday got away from me!! The kitcats are keeping me warm.
I woke up with a cold.No coughing or fever. Just a lot of congestion and sneezing. I did a Covid test, just to be sure, and it was negative.
Arthur is on his 3rd day out of 10 of antibiotics. He is his usual self and seems to be easing up on the licking. I just checked and his little rectum is MUCH less red and swollen, which is such a huge relief. I'll update the vet, tomorrow when I take Carys in to be spayed.
Then I'll count the hours until I get the call that she's in recovery and doing fine, and start counting again until I can pick her up.

(27,267 posts)I felt sorry for my new doctor, yesterday. Between my stress and anxiety about Arthur's issue, the recent sudden death of a good friend, and the upcoming anniversaries of my sister and mom's deaths, I was a bit 'fragile' when it came to discussing my 'mental health self evaluation'. Some people have a hair trigger temper. I have hair trigger tears.
And, of course, I will continue to worry about Carys until I get her back home, Friday morning.
I'll snuggle all of them a whole lot tonight.
hear Arthur is feeling better. Hope your cold gets better soon and think Carys will do just fine tomorrow. Sorry to hear of the loss of your friend. I am kind of like you in that I have hair trigger tears when I am extremely stressed.

(2,718 posts)Sending love and prayers for kitten. I hope yours is just a cold. Antigen tests can be kind of cranky for showing negative results. If you still feel crappy tomorrow you may want to test again. I tested negative three days in a row. Day four was a PCR and it showed positive. Take care! My best to all of you!😊💗

(92,491 posts)I hope your anxiety retreats soon, though the coming days won't be helpful there. You'll get through it and so will the kitties.
Sending good vibes to you and the kitties, a little extra for Arthur and Carys.

(141,754 posts)Possibly dry air/lack of humidity. I know before today when the arctic air began to finally recede, my humidifiers were working overtime. Without them, the humidity was down into the 19% range and with 3 of them going (including a big one on wheels with 2, 1.5 gal jugs), I was struggling to even hit 30% with them. Now I'm back in the 35% - 40% much better range.
Glad your fave guy is getting better.
