Interestingly enough, while waiting for me to drag myself out of bed, my daughter was looking at cats for adoption on her phone in the living room.

When we were all done opening presents, we led her to our bedroom (me, my fiance, and my fiance's aunt) and she was like, "what's happening?"

Took the "out of order" sign off the master bath door (it's actually not much of a master bath, the whole space is about 4 feet by 4 feet) and gestured to her to enter. Couple of large bows stuck to the door.

We heard her saying "No way!" and then saying hi to the kitty. When she came back out she gave us hugs.

Kitty will stay in the bathroom for a few more days, and my daughter will prepare her bedroom.

Last hurdle will be the biggest one - getting our other cat (Cece) to accept her. Cece and Lola (my daughter's previous cat) never got along, so Lola was confined to her bedroom since she was the newer addition, but there is a large catio attached to the bedroom. We have high hopes though - since this new cat is younger and not a dominant personality - that they will find some common ground. Will introduce them carefully and slowly.

But the main thing is that my daughter was ready for a new cat and is happy with this one!

Also I checked the rescue website, and as I had expected, the other cat got adopted by someone else.

I have one named Winnie and a patched tabby named Josephine, aka Josie. All tricolors are wonderful.

thing seems damned near perfect. I hope that little tortie girl will light up everyone's life the way mine does. Every tortie I have ever known has been exceptional in some way. I think that's why there is a term for it: tortitude!
Happy Christmas to you and yours!!!!!
