(59,538 posts)It's a real feel of -19 here.
Oddly, he didn't seem bothered by the cold. He left my porch after eating his salmon pate & sat down in the driveway & just looked around at the world.
I'd be hightailing it for shelter & certainly wouldn't sit on frozen concrete.

(59,538 posts)Then Thurs in low to mid 60s & heavy rain for a few days.
Crazy weather!
Glad you care for your outdoor extended family too!
I'll be making toasted peanut butter sandwiches for birds & squirrels in a little while.
I had the fattest squirrels in Chicago burbs when I lived there.
I went through 7 1 lb loaves of bread & a giant jar of peanut butter one super cold morning.

(27,267 posts)I only saw Scooter, this morning. At least I know she's fed. I'll keep checking for the others.

(35,240 posts)Pouring rain and blowing like hell. I put food on a dish inside of his little house and I looked out with a flashlight and right on my step he was sitting there but his head was in his house eating. And it looks like he came back later and finish it up. Im getting a lot of anxiety for him about this cold weather coming up though. Good luck to everybodys little feral kitties out there.

(3,247 posts)Since it did get down below 20 last night, we added a pizza sized heater (for cats) in the bed in the garage. We heat it up for about 10 minutes in the microwave, then its good for heat for about eight hours under the blanket in their bed. They love it.
Edit, sorry wrong link.

(59,538 posts)Ty for sharing link! And fof helping your kitties.
I'd get one for my feral guy, but I don't think he is using the shelter I borrowed from the rescue as when he comes to feed he treks over from somewhere across the street.
