Diaper changing

Last edited Mon Dec 14, 2015, 07:16 PM - Edit history (1)

It's been many years since I changed a diaper, but I was recently talking to a friend about it (mainly, his current experiences changing a diaper).

I'm male, not that I thought it matters, but it seems to make a perception difference for some people. Prior to having a child, I thought changing diapers was gross. What I found out was that if it was my own child I didn't mind, and actually found it a bonding experience. But on the few times I had to do someone else's baby (maybe visiting for the afternoon or something), I got grossed out. But not with my own child, just anyone elses.

Anyone ever feel that, or is that just me?

when you have kids, the same goes for vomiting etc, I can deal with my own kids but if anyone else throws up near me it makes me feel sick too.

I know that's unusual, but honestly I can't think of any time that happened (the same issue would have applied as you pointed out). He did poop his share, that's for sure. No lack of experience there. The worst was when we took him blueberry picking and he spent an hour running around eating every blueberry he could find. We stopped him when we figured out what he was doing but the damage was done, and we paid for it that night.

I'm not a parent yet, but I do work as a nanny! I'm a female so perhaps that's why I feel differently. But I don't think it is gross!
