Are there any hydrangea experts here?

So my Big Daddy hydrangea got split in half andI tried to make lemonade out of lemons by doing this:



Not all of them worked, but a good deal did, so now I am wondering if I should plant the peat pods in the ground, or should I bring them in for the winter. I live in Zone 7.

Pile straw around them. Cover them if you get a hard frost. They should be fine
