Glad I found you all here.
Anyway...I built some raised beds, mixed a custom blend, planted a few Veggies, and now I'm installing a 205 gallon rain barrel!
This is fun!
Stop by and check out my little blog and say hi.

Here's a few pic with more on my blog.

(120,644 posts)Not a whole lot going on here right now, but in another month or so I can start pruning my apple trees before they start to bud, and maybe I'll start some vegetable seeds indoors. Then in April I'll reconnect my rain barrels. It's very quiet in Zone 4 this time of year, except for that crunching sound the snow makes when you walk on it.
Your garden looks lovely. Green is a very nice color. I am looking forward to seeing more of it.

(37,751 posts)Wow, Shred, I am impressed. When you do something, you do it right! I really like the trim on your raised beds. They are going to be beautiful when they grow out, and I'll be back to check your blog for pics.
I have 10 or 12 raised beds around a pool. In effect, they are raised like yours, only they are on a terrace. That is because I live on a mountainside, so it is possible to stand and garden at at least five of the beds.
Last year they were falling apart, so I had to fix them myself. I'm not exactly the handiest person, so they are a far cry from the nice work you did. Here is a pic of one of them:

It was really a job. I had to dig out all the soil around the board, scraping it to one side, then level the board and attach it. My beds also have concrete blocks around them, so I had to dig them up, too, as they were not level.

What did you use for the bottoms of the raised beds?
