Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center

at UT-Austin is a wonderful legacy of our former FLOTUS, who was ahead of her time in her advocacy of sustaining the natural environment and creating beauty in formerly neglected spaces. The website is a great resource and has a clickable US map so that we can all identify native plants appropriate for planting in our own areas, including growing needs, usefulness to wildlife, and sources for obtaining them.

The architecture, the landscaping features, the featured exhibit gardens, the educational programs all make a wonderful place - so much more than other botanical gardens I have visited.
