Gardening
Related: About this forumGardening with the dogs.
I don't know about you guys, but my two dogs are Master Gardeners. This week I laid my veggie garden in. I began with 3 perfectly straight rows for beans, beets and carrots. I carefully worked the soil and sowed the seeds. When I went back to the garden later in the day, I found that my two "girls" had thoroughly inspected my work, trampled on it and probably sent my carrot seeds all the way to China.
Then we go on to corn, squash and potatoes. One dog insists on standing over me and watching every move I make...intently. She will also attempt to redig the holes I just planted the seed potatoes in. The other sits on every plant...tries them all out...doesn't miss a one.
Tomorrow I'll sow some more carrot seeds. It takes patience and a sense of humor.

(18,219 posts)You are supposed to train the dogs to do all the digging----especially since they seem to enjoy it so much!

I was about to go garden with a dog.
I shall re-think my plans.

(47,675 posts)The rabbits seem to find the all-you-can-eat salad bar to be superior to anything in the neighborhood. We've got the dogs trained to only go after bunnies in the garden and leave the ones grazing in the yard alone. The cats (not ours) think the garden is a litter box, but I can never catch them in action.
